Ingredients:
- 1 cup fresh greated coconut
- 2 tbsp roasted chana dal
- 2-3 green chilli
- 1/2 inch ginger
- Salt to taste
- Water as per needed
- 1 tsp oil for tempering
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- 1/2 tsp urad dal
- 1 dry red chilli
- 7-8 curry leaves
- A pinch of hing ( optional)
Step-by-step method:
- In a blender add grated coconut, roasted channa dal, green chilli, salt, or water.And blend it till it becomes smooth and thick.
- Taste it and adjust the name or green chili as per your requirement.
- Heat some oil in a pan, then add mustard seeds in it and give it to the spicy home.
- Then add roasted urad dal, dry red chili, or a pinch of hing dal and sauté for some seconds till the fragrance does not come out.
- Then add it to the coconut chutney mixture, mix it, and enjoy the classic coconut chutney.
Recipe 2: Red Coconut Chutney (Spicy & Tangy)
Ingredients you'll needed:
- 1 cup fresh greated coconut
- 3-4 dry red chilli ( spice verity or kashmiri for colour)
- 2 tbsp roasted chana dal
- 1/2 tsp tamarind paste yaa small piece of tamarind
- Salt as per taste
- 1/2 cup of water
- 1 tsp oil
- 1/2 tbsp mustard seeds
- 1/2 urad dal ( roasted)
- Curry leaves 8-9
- 1-2 dry red chilli
Step by step method:
- You should soak the red chilli in hot water for 10 minutes so that it can be ground into a smooth paste.
- Then in a blender I may blend great coconut, roasted urad dal, soaked red chilli, salt and water into a smooth chutney.
- And adjust the spices as per your choice.
- Heat some oil in a pan, then add mustard seeds in it and give it a spicy touch.
- Then add roasted urad dal, dry red chilli or a pinch of hing and saute for a few seconds till the fragrance .

- ½ tsp urad dal
- 1 dried red chili
- 7-8 curry leaves
