What is green chutney and how to make it
Chutney is such a dish which when made in combination with anything enhances the taste of everything. In Indian households, everyone makes different recipes in their homes. Green chutney has its own different recipes and everyone blends it in their own way. If we talk about the taste of sandwiches then how can we forget chutney. Like a fresh and tangy flower is added to our sandwiches. If you too can make this at your home, step by step let's see how to make it.
About green chutney:
These are easy recipes that can be prepared in 10 minutes. By blending a little coriander leaves, mint leaves, green chutney, fresh herbs or lime juice in a blender, a fresh and tangy green chutney is ready. If you want to eat something by dipping it or want to spread spicy food in some sandwich, then green chutney is definitely required.
You can also serve it with Veg Sandwich, Avocado Sandwich, Pulao Rice, Tawa Pulao, Upma, Panner Paratha and Moong Dal Khichdi.
Ingredients you'll needs:
- 1 cup coriander leaves
- 1/2 cup mint leaves ( optional but add freshness)
- 1-2 Green chillies ( adjust spices)
- 1 inch ginger
- 2-3 garlic cloves
- 1 tbsp Lime juice
- 1/2 tbsp suger
- Salt to taste
- Water ( for consistency)
Let's see how to make it step by step:
Clean the herbs:
Wash the coriander leves or mint leves thoroughly so that there is no dirt or impurities in it. Then dry it on a kitchen towel. Keep in mind that it is important to dry it before making chutney, otherwise your chutney will be watery.
Prepare the Ingredients:
Chop ginger and galich and cut green chillies into small pieces till the blend becomes smooth. And keep all the ingredients aside till it becomes easier for you to prepare the dish.
Blend everything:
In my blender I may add coriander leaves, mint leaves, ginger, garlic, green chillies, lime juice, sugar salt. add a splash of water this will help you blend your chutney. Blend until smooth paste is formed. adjust consistency by adding more water.
Taste and adjust:
Taste the chutney and add more flavours as per your choice like salt, sugar, lime juice.
Store it properly:
You can store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator which stays fresh for 5-6 days. Or if you want to keep it for even longer, keep it in the refrigerator in small portions.
Tips for perfect green chutney:
- This perfect green chutney with fresh coriander and fresh mint is so use fresh ingredients.
- To add fresh green color to it, you can add ice or roasted gram dal to it.
- You can adjust spices level as per your taste of you want more spices then add more green chillies.
- You can store it in an airtight container, it remains fresh for 3 days.
